Data We Collect

• Game Progress: We store which daily puzzles you've completed, and your answer to each, in your browser's local storage, so a puzzle you have already answered shows your result instead of being played again. This is necessary for the game to work and does not depend on your cookie choice. This data never leaves your device.
• Anonymous Analytics: We collect anonymous statistics about which images users select to display aggregate performance data. This data is not linked to any personal information.
• Advertising Preferences: Google's consent management platform stores and manages your advertising choices, where applicable.
• Advertising Data: Google AdSense and its advertising partners may process data to deliver and measure ads, subject to your choices and applicable requirements.
• Daily Reminders (Optional): If you switch on the daily reminder, we store a notification token for that device, the time you chose and your timezone on our servers. See Daily Reminder Notifications below.
• Technical Records: To stop abuse and to avoid counting the same answer twice, we briefly keep a one-way cryptographic digest of your IP address. We do not store readable IP addresses, and the digest cannot be reversed back into your address.

Local Storage

We use your browser's local storage to save your game progress and preferences. This includes:

• Which daily puzzles you've completed
• Your daily reminder time, if you have set one

This data stays on your device and we do not transmit it to our servers. The single exception is the daily reminder: if you switch it on, the time you picked is also sent to our servers, because that is the only way we can send the reminder to you. You can clear local data at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.

If you install ImageGuesser as an app, your browser also registers a small background script (a "service worker") on your device. It exists to show an offline page and to receive reminder notifications. It stores no personal data and keeps no copy of the puzzles you play. Uninstalling the app, or clearing site data in your browser, removes it.

For data stored on your own device, clear your browser's local storage for this site. To turn off daily reminders and delete the associated record, use "Turn off reminder" under Notifications in the Support Center. For anything else, including access and erasure requests, contact us at the address below and we will respond within one month.

Cookies

We use necessary browser storage to run the game. Advertising partners may also use cookies or similar technologies:

• Necessary: Required for site functionality (consent preferences, game progress)
• Advertising: Google's consent message explains the purposes and advertising partners that apply to you and lets you manage your choices.

Use Privacy and cookie settings in the footer to revisit the Google consent message, where it is available. Your choice does not affect access to the game or the progress stored on your device. If advertising services are blocked or temporarily unavailable, you can still play.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Data Retention

• Local Storage: Retained until you clear your browser data
• Anonymous Game Statistics: Retained indefinitely in aggregated form (no personal identifiers)
• Advertising Storage: Retention varies by Google and the advertising partners shown in the consent message. Their policies describe the applicable storage periods.
• Newsletter Subscribers: Retained until you unsubscribe
• Daily Reminders: Deleted as soon as you turn the reminder off, and automatically after 180 days without opening the app
• Technical Records (IP digests): Abuse-prevention records are deleted within 24 hours; duplicate-answer records within 7 days

Children's Privacy

ImageGuesser is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information.

International Data Transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside of your residence, including the United States and European Union, where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for international data transfers, including relying on Google's EU-US Data Privacy Framework certification and Standard Contractual Clauses.

If you use daily reminders, your notification token is necessarily transmitted to the push service operated by your browser's vendor (Google, Apple, Mozilla or Microsoft), which may process it in the United States. These providers are certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or covered by Standard Contractual Clauses. The contents of the notification are encrypted end-to-end and cannot be read by them.
